Leta studies thrust faults on Mars to determine how these faults differ from those on Mercury. Her work is critical to understanding how planetary surfaces have been shaped by tectonics.

Desiree' studied fault zone properties and how these properties are affected by folding.
Where is she now?
Fall 2022 Desiree' will be working on an MS in Volcanism at Central Washington University, having co-authored a paper and presented her work nationally as a BS.

Jon studied reactivation features on Mars and in the Ouachita Mountains of Arkansas to locate evidence that mountain systems are recycled.
Where is he now?
Fall 2023 Jon will be starting a PhD at U of Toronto continuing to study reactivation on early Earth and other planets.

We learn to be geologists by thinking like geologists, acting like geologists, and feeling like geologists. My goal is to create learning environments where students have the opportunity to practice being who they want to be, whether that's a future scientist, teacher, or geologist.
